PEE WEE BASEBALL PEE WEE BASEBALL - INTRODUCTION (Ages 7-8 as of August 31 Current Year) The Peewee’s Program is a training process by which youngsters can learn, develop, and practice fundamental baseball skills as a stepping-stone to more competitive play such as Little League. Pee wee teams use a combination of player pitch and coach pitch; players have the opportunity to develop better hitting/fielding techniques with controlled coach pitch innings preparing them for the next level of Little League. Defensive players are allowed the opportunity to develop fundamental fielding skills. The learning experience is a vital part of each youngster’s success. It is important that this experience be coupled with the development of fundamental skills of hitting, throwing, fielding, and running, as well as that of good sportsmanship and teamwork. For these reasons you can see the importance of this transitional division of Pee Wee’s to aid youth in their developmental stages from previous play in T-Ball/Pitching Machine to advancement into programs such as Little League.
