PEE WEE BASEBALL - (INTRODUCTION Ages 6-8 as of August 1 Current Year) The Peewee’s Program is a training process by
which youngsters can learn, develop, and practice fundamental baseball skills as a stepping-stone to more competitive play such as
Little League. Pee wee teams use a combination of player pitch and coach pitch; players have the opportunity to develop better
hitting/fielding techniques with controlled coach pitch innings preparing them for the next level of Little League. Defensive players are
allowed the opportunity to develop fundamental fielding skills. The learning experience is a vital part of each youngster’s success. It
is important that this experience be coupled with the development of fundamental skills of hitting, throwing, fielding, and running, as
well as that of good sportsmanship and teamwork. For these reasons the importance of this transitional division is to aid youth in their
developmental stages from previous play in T-Ball/Pitching Machine to advancement into programs such as Little League.
PEE WEE BASEBALL (CODE OF ETHICS) Coaches, Parents and players should show good sportsmanship at all times, REFRAIN
FROM COACHING IN THE STANDS. Players are to hustle on and off the field as games are played under a time limit, the more you
hustle, the more time there is to play. Players must arrive on time. The coach may exclude a player from play if not present at the
time for the presentation of line-up. At least one coach should be in the dugout at all times and have control of assistants, players,
and parents throughout the game. Players should not leave the bench during a game without permission of the coach. There should
be no criticizing or heckling by the players or parents. The coach is in charge of the team; parental interference only confuses the
players. Coaches in the 1st and 3rd base boxes should be adults, if not place the adult closest to your team dugout and a player with
helmet on in the opposite base box during the offensive side of the inning. A defensive team coach will be allowed near the catcher
to help retrieve passed balls to help speed up play. This coach can provide guidance to the catcher until the pitcher is set and ready
to pitch at this time this coach must remain quite. The basis or fundamentals of play are structured around the Little League program.
PEE WEE BASEBALL (GAME GUIDELINES) Completed game at least 4 innings, Full Game is 6 innings with a maximum no new
inning within 1 hr. 30 min. limit. (1:30 reached finish the inning you are in). The first (1) and second (2) innings will be coach pitch with
a maximum of 5 pitches per batter, no walks, no runs, nor outs will be recorded in either inning. Beginning the top of the third (3)
inning players will pitch with the offense using a continuous batting order observing 3 outs or 5 runs scored. Maximum of 4 pitches
per batter by player, before 5th pitch Coach will resume the pitching to complete the batters opportunity to hit as there are NO walks
as the batter will remain with strike count in effect and coach comes in for up to two (2) pitches with a hit or batter forced out outcome.
No batter will end an at-bat on a foul ball. Home team is official scorekeeper. Score will be kept from the 3rd inning. Minimum number
of players needed to start game is 6; any players showing up late will be added to the end of batting order. The traditional 9
defensive players are expected but if either team has 10 or more rostered they are expected to field 10 players defensively using the
additional players in the outfield not in the infield of the fair play area, (transition between infield and outfield is the grass edge). There
is a continuous batting order: where each player on the team’s roster bats, even when not in the defensive lineup. Each player must
play at least 2 innings in the field per game. Bats must be little league approved inclusive of the USA Ball stamp. No bunting, stealing
or leadoffs are allowed. All games should be played with an official little league low seam baseball.
Dead Ball Rule: Play is considered ‘dead’ when the ball is attempted to be controlled by the pitcher in the vicinity of the pitching
rubber, runners stop advancement and remain at the base appropriate to the runners location in correlation to base line hash mark.
Baseline hash marks are approximately half way between bases. Location of runner and base advancement is at umpire’s discretion.
Pitch Count- Each pitcher can throw a maximum of 50 pitches per game with the following rest requirements:
If a player pitches 36-50 pitches in a day, three (3) calendar days of rest must be observed.
If a player pitches 21-35 pitches in a day, two (1) calendar days of rest must be observed.
If a player pitches 1-20 pitches in a day, no days rest is required; however the pitcher cannot pitch on the same day again.
If a pitcher reaches 41 pitches they may not assume the role of catcher in that day however, they may complete a faced
batter without jeopardy to the catcher’s role on that day. No catcher may assume a pitchers role after 3 consecutive innings per day.
Measurements for field are: 37 feet pitching distance and 60 feet base path with hash marks approximately half way between bases.
On deck batter must be in designated area completely outside the fence/field of play. (Coach and Umpire determine at game time).
Tournament Play: If the game is tied at the end of the 1:30 hour time limit. It will remain a tie.
