Slow Pitch Softball

HP&R Men's Fall League Softball

$200 entry - Will play with a minimum of 4 teams
IF WE DO NOT HAVE 4 WE WILL TRY TO DO A 3 TEAM DOUBLE ROUND ROBIN TOURNAMENT AT A REDUCED COST.

Maximum of 8 teams due to field availability.
Rosters and signed waivers will be due at deadline.
​10 people in field, max # of batters 12.
May play with minimum of 7 players. Less than that is a forfeit. (UNLESS OTHER TEAM AGREES TO PLAY, OR CLEARED BY THE PARK DIRECTOR). THE MAIN GOAL IS TO PLAY GAMES.
If a tie occurs between teams for first place - point differential will be used in the games between those teams. First tiebreaker though is head to head.
Example Team A beat Team B: 15-12, then lost 10-20 to them. Team B is the league winner.

ASA rules and modified HP&R Rules as needed.

Teams provide their own balls: Must be ASA stamped ball 12" Optic Yellow .52 core, 300 compression for Men's Leagues. Bats are all current legal ASA and USSSA bats not on the banned list.
Maximum of 5 home runs per game
One hour game time limit. --------------No new inning will be allowed to start with less than 8 minutes left. 7 Inning max. Tie ball game after 7 use California tie-breaker rules. Runner at second (last out), with no outs. Play til game is decided.
​NO SMOKING OR VAPING AT THE BALLFIELDS, IN THE STANDS, OR ON THE PLAYING FIELD.


1. Roster and code of conduct must be turned in to the umpire before the first game. No roster
changes after 8 games. Players must be on the roster and sign the code of conduct to be
eligible to play. Players are limited to playing on only 1 team. (UNLESS OTHER TEAM AGREES).

2. ANY PLAYER WHO IS EJECTED FROM A GAME MAY NOT FINISH THAT GAME AND MAY
NOT PLAY IN THE NEXT GAME. IF A PLAYER IS EJECTED TWICE IN THE SAME SEASON
HE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PLAY FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON.


3. NO DRINKING OR DRUG USE
4. All teams will furnish their own game balls. Teams not using an approved ASA or USSSA
ball with a CORE of .52/300 lb compression will forfeit the game. NO EXCEPTIONS.
5. Home team must provide an official scorer. The official scorer cannot be a player in the line-up.
UMPIRE WILL KEEP SCORE BUT HOME TEAM MUST CHECK WITH HIM ON SCORE ROUTINELY.
6. Any pitched ball that is a minimum of 6 feet high and a maximum of 12 feet high is a strike if it
(a) touches any part of the home plate extension before touching any other object; (b) is swung
at and missed or (c) is hit foul by a batter.
7. Players will begin with a 1-1 count and have one courtesy foul. The courtesy foul will only be
given when the batter has 2 strikes.
8. A team must have 8 players present in order to start a game. Game time is forfeit time, no
exceptions!!
9. Teams are allowed to bat 11 players. The extra hitter is optional and must be made known prior
to the start of the game.
10. Players must be at least 18 years of age to be eligible.
11. Teams are limited to 5 home runs per game. Every home run after 5 will be ruled an out.
12. No metal cleats allowed.
13. Bats must be ASA or USSSA certified! Any team found using a bat from the NON-Approved
list or a bat that is altered in ANY way will be banned for the remainder of the league and
FORFIET their entry fee.
14. The runner shall be called out when a defensive player has the ball or is about to catch a thrown
ball and the runner remains on his feet and crashes into the player. In order to prevent a
deliberate crash ruling the runner can slide, jump over the top of the defender, go around the
defender (but not out of the 3 foot lane) or return to the previous base. If the act is flagrant, the
runner will be ejected.
15. DO NOT CARRY THE BAT TO FIRST BASE - THIS IS AN OUT.
16. A complete game will consist of whichever occurs first:

a. Seven innings
b. 1 hour time limit
c. Run rules: 20 runs ahead after 3 innings; 15 runs after 4 innings or 10 runs after 5
innings

THE UMPIRE’S DECISION IS FINAL AND MUST BE RESPECTED BY ALL
COACHES, PLAYERS; SPECTATORS!!!

HP&R reserves the right to modify any rules or format as needed
for the success of the league. Remember our goal is to have fun!
